About Us

Discover our mission, our ministry, and how we support families impacted by incarceration across East Texas.

Who are we, and what do we do in the Kairos Outside of East Texas Prison Ministry!

Kairos Outside is made up of volunteers who help support the female family members of men, women, and youth who are or have been incarcerated in our country’s state and federal correctional facilities. In many ways, the women on the outside have to be stronger than their relatives inside to survive in today’s world. We believe that the women and families of the incarcerated are “doing time” right along with their loved ones.

Kairos Outside is designed to let those families know that a community cares about them and their needs. One way this is accomplished is through “The Weekend“, a 3-day event that helps strengthen women by providing a safe place to share their struggles and be supported by empathetic listeners. It also encourages small support groups for women whose relatives are learning a new way of life by becoming accountable in their facility’s Kairos Inside Prayer & Share Group.

We hope Kairos Outside will help them find strength in their life journeys and give them a chance to build friendships within the Christian community that may last a lifetime.
