Kairos Outside is a Christian-based ministry located in East Texas, offering a weekend retreat designed to support the female loved ones of men and women who are or have been incarcerated. Families of the incarcerated “do time” right along with their loved ones. On a Kairos Outside weekend, in a safe environment with loving people, guests hear talks and participate in activities with women who share their life journeys. Women interact with other women in similar situations and learn to form small support groups to give them strength for their challenges. The program involves music, prayer, fun activities, pampering, and great meals.
Kairos Outside weekends are usually held at church camps for KOET (Kairos Outside East Texas). The weekends will be held in the Lindale area of East Texas (or similar facilities in other regions).
